“Finding Peace in a Complicated World”
The New Reform Temple Mental Health Initiative

The New Reform Temple is committed to nurturing mental health.

We are offering three engaging and relevant programs to be held at the Temple. We encourage people to sign up for all the programs which are relevant to their lives. Pre-registration is required. You may certainly encourage your friends outside the synagogue to participate.  But, they will need to sign up on their own.

Take Two of These: Humor and Laughter

Facilitator: Jamie Copaken, LSCSW

Thursday, February 22    7:00pm – 8:30 pm

Can laughter cure disease and solve difficult problems?  It can change your outlook, speed recovery from illness, elevate mood, and help you navigate life’s bumpy rides. Explore what humor and laughter can do and why it’s an essential, and often overlooked, part of our communication, health, and recovery. The workshop will discuss how we can harness humor for our emotional and physical health.

Parenting in the Digital Age

“Is There Life After TikTok?”

Facilitator: Rhyan Kubik, LPC-P

Sunday, February 25    9:30 am – 11 am

Join us as we discuss parenting in the age of social media.  How we can pull our children away from their phones and reconnect our families.  Let’s work together to address this important contemporary challenge.

The Financial Stressors in Family Life

Facilitator: Gary Wolf, PLPC, CFT-I

Thursday, April 4    7:00pm – 8:30 pm

Money and financial matters can have a crippling effect on people, negatively impacting their family life, work, and all other aspects of their lives. This workshop will examine how money issues impact our mental health and family relationships.

Tonight, Shabbat reminds us that holiness is not found in extremes but in the middle path. The wisdom of Rabbi Simcha Bunim, who taught us to carry […]
