Rabbi Levinsky Sermon: November 21
This Shabbat reminds us that connecting with God can begin in the most ordinary way. In Judy Blume’s Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret, a young girl raised with no religion simply starts talking to God. No formal language, no special moment — just honesty. Jewish tradition teaches that a relationship with the divine often begins the same way: by speaking from where we truly are. As Shabbat arrives, we are invited to set aside expectations and approach God with directness and sincerity. May this day help us rediscover the power of a simple, heartfelt conversation with the sacred.
