High Holy Day Food Drive

Monday, September 19, 2022

One-sixth of Americans do not have enough food to eat. People in our community do not have money, even with government support, to make it to the end of the month. Our support of the Jewish Family Service’s Food Pantry in Brookside is an effective way to address this need.

Bring a bag of food to NRT between 9-23 / 10-10. Please, no perishables. Donations can be dropped-off at NRT during the week, at Shabbat services or during Religious School. If you have questions, please contact Donna Holmes at cholmes56@kc.rr.com

JFS receives food 365 days a year at 425 E. 63rd St. Kansas City, Mo.

Rabbi Levinsky Sermon: October 10

Sukkot is called z’man simchateinu — the season of our joy — but its joy is layered. It’s not escape or indulgence; it’s release. After the intensity of the High Holy Days, Sukkot invites us to breathe again, to celebrate the sheer fact of being alive. We step outside, sit beneath a roof that lets the stars […]
