Shavuot With Confirmation & Consecration
Join us for our Festival of Shavuot Service when we celebrate the Giving of Torah at Mount Sinai. We honor our high school students who have fulfilled their requirements for Confirmation. Plus, our new religious school students will celebrate their Consecration. Kiddush following the service.

Community Tisha B’Av Observances
In observance of Tisha B’Av, a community-wide observance outdoor service will take place on Saturday, August 6 at Congregation Beth Shalom. If inclement weather, the evening will be held in indoors at the congregation. Outdoor seating will be available and those who wish may bring blankets to sit on. The community Tisha B’Av observance will continue on Sunday, August 7 beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Kehilath Israel Synagogue. The movie, "Lonely Man of Faith a documentary about Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik, a rabbinic scholar of Yeshiva University will be shown. The movie is about Modern Orthodoxy, and how Rabbi Soloveitchik’s frustration and conflicts as a man of faith influenced the balance of tradition and tension with change. Community-wide Selichot Program and Service
The Jewish community will come together to prepare for the High Holy Days at the annual community Selichot program and service on Saturday, September 17. There will be opportunities for multi-access participation. The Rosh Hashanah Family Service will take place at the Loose Park Pavilion (5200 Wornall Road, KCMO). Immediately afterwards we will head to the pond for Tashlich. Welcome in the New Year with joy: a family celebration with music, entertainment with Theatre of the Imagination/Miles McMahon providing a family friendly play "Making the World Better", and casting our breadcrumbs into the water (Tashlich).
