Across our history, the Jewish people have met tragedy with creativity and loss with life. From the ruins of Jerusalem to the shtetls of Eastern Europe to the aftermath of the Shoah, our ancestors refused to surrender to despair. They built, they taught, and by doing so, they kept the Jewish people turning toward hope.
Hope, in our tradition, is not a dream but a discipline—the steady choice to believe that what we do matters. Each prayer, each act of kindness, is a spark that keeps the light alive.
