Shavuot

Festival of Shavuot 2021

Wednesday, April 28, 2021

Shavuot means “weeks”. This Festival celebrates the giving of the Torah at Mt. Sinai to the Jewish people seven weeks after Passover. Every year on Shavuot, we renew our acceptance of God’s gift to the Jews with an evening of study called “Tikkun L’eil Shavuot”.

Please join Rabbi Londy Sunday, May 16 at 7:30pm – 8:30pm on ZOOM for an hour of thought-provoking study.

Topic: Acquiring Torah: The Story of Rabbi Akiva

Rabbi Akiva is one of the greatest rabbinic sages. His amazing biography teaches what it means to love Torah study.

Study texts will be sent to all who have registered. After the session, we will join in a virtual Cheesecake Shavuot Kiddush. (You must bring your own wine and cheesecake.)

Please contact the Temple office by Friday, May 15 to sign up.

It’s Me, Margaret, a young girl raised with no religion simply starts talking to God. No formal language, no special moment — just honesty. Jewish tradition teaches that a relationship with the divine often […]

Rabbi Levinsky Sermon: November 14

Anger is not something to banish; it’s something to understand. It appears when something we value has been violated—a sign that our hearts are still alive and responsive. The task is to let that fire illuminate rather than consume. When we pause before reacting, we create space for wisdom and compassion to enter. Shabbat invites […]
