Hanukkah Lighting (2)

3rd Annual Hanukkah Lighting

Thursday, December 1, 2022

The New Reform Temple Third Annual Outside Menorah Lighting

December 18 – December 25

Each night of Hanukkah we will be lighting our inspiring nine-foot outdoor menorah at The New Reform Temple in front of the Krasne Garden.

The eight menorah lightings will take place each night starting the evening of December 18 and ending the evening December 25. All lightings will take place at 6:00 pm except for Friday, December 23. (See below) We are planning for our lighting ceremony to be about 15-20 minutes. Come enjoy singing together and leave with Hanukkah chocolate gelt and jelly donuts!

On Friday night, December 23, we will be lighting the Menorah at 5:30 pm followed by Shabbat Services on 6:00 pm. After services, we will have a delicious Oneg Shabbat which will include Latkes. Come hungry.

Prior reservations are requested. Your reservation will help us plan for our refreshment each night.

Signup at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70A0D48A4A72DA4F85-third for your choice of evening including the Oneg Shabbat. Please contact the temple office if you have any questions.

This week’s Torah portion reminds us that Moses does not ask Pharaoh only for rest from labor, but for the right to gather and serve God together. The Passover Haggadah later names this movement “from bondage […]

Rabbi Levinsky Sermon: January 9

Is it ever okay to lie? A seventh grader once asked me a deceptively simple question: Is it ever okay to lie? The Torah answers this question not with a legal decision but with a story. When Joseph’s brothers fear revenge after Jacob’s death, they invent words their father never spoke. They lie, and the […]
