Rabbi Levinsky Sermon: March 27
Joy
How do we find Joy? We often think joy comes from the big moments, the milestones, the things we plan for and anticipate. But this week I want to point us in a different direction. It’s a cliché, but it is the small things that matter. The warmth of your dog by your side as he falls asleep. The branches of a tree, cutting through the blue sky. A breath. When do we find joy? When we make space in our lives, within ourselves. When we tend to that space, take care of it as the good and bad flow through our lives. When we do those things, something as simple as sunlight can take on meaning. If only we notice it.
